The latest Halloween sequel racked up a total of $253 million at the worldwide box office. The film served as a direct follow-up to the original film from John Carpenter — ignoring all other installments in the franchise. Scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis reprised her role as Laurie Strode as she comes face to face for what may have been her final confrontation with Michael Myers. While Laurie succeeded in surviving another horrific Halloween being hunted by the Boogeyman, the film left the fate of Michael Myers open enough to continue forward.
Speaking with CinePOP, Blum confirmed that while a sequel has yet to be greenlit, the production company is working to bring another installment to fruition:
“I’m trying, I’m trying, trying. Not official yet but I’m trying.”
Whether or not Jamie Lee Curtis will return for another outing as Laurie Strode remains a mystery, however, the actress has previously confirmed she would be up for another go against Michael Myers if Halloween director Michael Myers came back to helm another installment.
