Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed new details about the upcoming Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story, THR reports.
Iger spoke at USC this morning. He was interviewed by Willow Bay, the Dean of USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism this morning after he announced he would be extending his tenure as CEO of the billion dollar company until July 2, 2019.
The CEO confirmed that the Han Solo film will chronicle the young smuggler, played by Alden Ehrenreich, from years of 18-24 in his life and will include meeting Chewbacca (Joonas Suotomo) and finding the Millenium Falcon.
One has to wonder how exactly Solo will “find” the Falcon as The Empire Strikes Back revealed he won the ship in a bet against Lando Calrissian.
The film also stars Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Michael K. Williams and Woody Harrelson who confirmed recently he is playing Beckett, the young Solo’s mentor.
The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story has been written by Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon Kasdan. The film is currently i production being directed by The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller and is slated to for release on May 25, 2018
