Legends of Tomorrow star Brandon Routh recently revealed that it wasn’t his choice to leave the DC Comics drama.

While fans were disappointed to learn last year that Legends of Tomorrow star Brandon Routh would be leaving the series, the actor has revealed that the exit wasn’t his decision. Although Brandon Routh’s extra role in the recent crossover as Kingdom Come Superman was an instant hit with fans, it seems that Ray Palmer’s time on Legends of Tomorrow has come to a close thanks to a decision higher up at The CW.

While many Arrowverse fans are hopeful that Legends of Tomorrow star Brandon Routh could return to his Kingdom Come Superman role, the actor explained that he isn’t sure whether he’ll reprise it in a future appearance but that he’d gladly wear the cape again. In a recent conversation with a fan online, Legends of Tomorrow star Brandon Routh confirmed that the decision for Ray Palmer to leave the series wasn’t made by him. Brandon Routh’s comment implies that he’s sad about leaving the series, but there’s always hope he’ll have a guest appearance in a future episode thanks to the time-travelling nature of the show.
