Brie Larson recently stated her desire to diversify the Captain Marvel press tour with more people of color and women, causing men around the world to take her statement extremely out of context and become giant man-babies about it. While the actress didn’t have to clarify anything about her comments, being the class act that she is, she simply restated her desires for the press run:
What I’m looking for is to bring more seats up to the table. No one is getting their chair taken away. There’s not less seats at the table, there’s just more seats at the table.”
Brie Larson looks to have a hit on her hands with Captain Marvel as early reviews have labeled it great. This should make the Captain Marvel star put on her hate-deflecting shades and bask in the sunlight of her success. I look forward to seeing Brie Larson put her words into action with more seats at the Captain Marvel table and I’m excited for the possibilities that lay ahead for people of color and female journalists.
