Brie Larson Will Sacrifice Things She Loves For ‘Captain Marvel’

Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson talks about the things she will give up to star in Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel.

Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson is set to star as Carol Danvers in Marvel’s first female-led superhero film, Captain Marvel, which will be directed by Mississippi Grind helmers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. However, playing a superhero on the big screen requires a lot of sacrifices to be made, as Larson already knows.

While speaking recently with Porter Magazine, Larson stated that while she is excited about starring in the Marvel Studios film, she realizes that there are things that she will have to give up in order to take on the role. Here is what the actress said:

“I spent months thinking about whether or not I was going to do the film, and I realised that it was a chance to tell a story on the largest scale possible. I know it is going to make me lose some of the things I love most about my life, but I think it’s worth it.”

Little is known about the plot of the Captain Marvel film so far, but what we do know is that it will be set in the ’90s, feature a two-eyed Nick Fury (with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role), and that the villains at the center of the film will be the Skrulls. The Kree-Skrull War is also said to play a part in the film and the original Captain Marvel from the comics, Kree superhero Mar-Vell, is rumored to make an appearance.

Captain Marvel will star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury. The film will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind) and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider), based on an earlier draft by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out).

Captain Marvel is slated to hit theaters March 8, 2019.
