Shazam! Star Zachary Levi Asks Fans To Stop Pitting Him Against Captain Marvel Star Brie Larson

Shazam! star Zachary Levi asks fans not to create bad blood between him and Captain Marvel star Brie Larson for the almost simultaneous release of both films.

It seems that some controversy is spiking around Captain Marvel and Shazam! fans over the fact that both films are releasing really close to one another. Things are reportedly getting nasty since Shazam himself Zachary Levi had to post this video online to bring this discussion to an end and put the shame on whoever is trying to pit him against fellow actress Brie Larson who interprets Carol Danvers in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel. Here’s what he had to say:

We agree with Zachary Levi. There’s no place for this kind of rivalry and bad blood between DC and Marvel fans. Both films with Zachary Levi and Brie Larson will surely engage fans in their own unique and distinctive way since both characters are very different from one another, even if they were both called Captain Marvel at one point in time. We say enjoy both films and rejoice that we’re living in a time where we can finally see Billy Batson and Carol Danvers brought to life.

Shazam! starring Zachary Levi and Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson will release with almost a month’s difference. While Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019, Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.

Here’s the synopsis for Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson:

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Are you excited to see Brie Larson join the MCU next month? Following her debut in Captain Marvel, Brie Larson will return in April for Avengers: Endgame.

And here’s the synopsis for Shazam!:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.
