Brother Voodoo May Appear In Benedict Cumberbatch’s ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’

Marvel character Brother Voodoo could be appearing in Benedict Cumberbatch’s upcoming film, Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange sequel may have lost its director but the film is still going on full steam ahead. It is also possible that the Benedict Cumberbatch film could be setting up another form of magic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Specifically, the Benedict Cumberbatch film could be setting up Voodoo magic through Marvel hero Brother Voodoo.

Brother Voodoo first appeared in Strange Tales #196 and conceived by Stan Lee as a heroic practitioner of Voodoo magic. Since then, he has been a long-standing ally of the Avengers and Doctor Strange. But now he just may be making his big-screen debut in Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange sequel.

According to reports, Marvel Studios has put out a casting call for Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange sequel that is specifically looking for an actor of Haitian descent. While other Marvel characters could fit this description, it is far more likely that this call is for Brother Voodoo given their shared usage of magic. What role Brother Voodoo will play in the Benedict Cumberbatch film remains to be seen.

What do you all make of this? Could Brother Voodoo make his big-screen debut in Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness? Would you like to see Benedict Cumberbatch’s character team up with Brother Voodoo? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Details on Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are currently limited, though it is said to feature horror elements.

Scott Derrickson is no longer board Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as a director, but he is still attached to the sequel as an executive producer and the search for a new director to realize the script written by Jade Bartlett is underway. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Elizabeth Olsen.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 7, 2021.
