The cameo in question is a relatively minor one and can easily be missed altogether. In it, Agent Burns (John Cena) is in his office when he is delivered a message from a random agent. But the agent, as it turns out, wasn’t all that random after all. If you look closely at the agent’s name tag you will see that it says Simmons, indicating that the character is, in fact, a younger version of Agent Simons from the first three Transformers films and Transformers: The Last Knight.
The film itself has more or less been pushed as a reboot of the franchise with several cameos and after-credits endings setting the film up as the start of its own cinematic universe. But cameos like these seem to indicate that the film is, in fact, still in the same universe as the Michael Bay films, for better and for worse. Hopefully, for the sake of the franchise, the similarities and connections will end there.
Did you all notice this cameo? What did you think of Bumblebee? Should the film have had more connections to the original Transformers films or should it stay as far away from them as possible? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
