Fans React To Accurate Transformers In New ‘Bumblebee’ Teaser

Paramount Pictures released a trailer for their upcoming Transformers spin-off film Bumblebee, which featured even more Transformers characters than seen previously. But what got fans excited was not the amount of characters appearing, but the fact that the designs were more reflective of the G1 designs than any other live-action film has ever done before.

One of the many criticisms about the Michael Bay Transformers films were that the designs of the Autobots and the Decepticons were too complicated for their own good. Because of that, the action sequences involving them were incomprehensible because you couldn’t tell which character was which at some points.

Fans from around the world are so stoked about the classic Transformers designs. Here are some of their enthusiastic reactions:

Given that Bumblebee is looking to be a smaller scale story a la The Iron Giant, the action sequences and the simpler Transformers designs will make for a better feel, especially for the old school fans.

Here is the synopsis for Bumblebee:

“On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.”

Directed by Travis Knight, the film stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos, Gracie Dzienny, Angela Basset and Justin Theroux.

Bumblebee will be released in theaters on December 21, 2018.
