One of the many criticisms about the Michael Bay Transformers films were that the designs of the Autobots and the Decepticons were too complicated for their own good. Fans from around the world are so stoked about the classic Transformers designs. Here are some of their enthusiastic reactions:
Given that Bumblebee is looking to be a smaller scale story a la The Iron Giant, the action sequences and the simpler Transformers designs will make for a better feel, especially for the old school fans.
Here is the synopsis for Bumblebee:
“On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.”
Directed by Travis Knight, the film stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos, Gracie Dzienny, Angela Basset and Justin Theroux.
