‘Krypton’ Star Cameron Cuffe & Series Showrunner Break Silence On Cancellation

Krypton lead actor Cameron Cuffe and showrunner Cameron Welsh address Krypton‘s cancellation and thank the fans for their support.

As Krypton fans know by now, the series has sadly been cancelled by SyFy. Though there are some suggestions that the series could continue on other networks, such as HBO Max, this appears to be the end of the line for the series for now. Lead actor Cameron Cuffe used his Twitter page to thank DC and SyFy for the opportunity to play Seg-El, the grandfather of Superman:

Meanwhile, Cameron Walsh was more verbose on his thoughts about the cancellation of Krypton, with a more extensive letter thanking the fans for their interest in the series:

Krypton ran for two seasons on SyFy before its untimely cancellation, with the powers at DC looking to see if they can continue the show on another platform. If the show is revived, then Cameron Welsh and Cameron Cuffe will presumably both be back for more episodes. And while the show was predominantly a Superman prequel, the series also had ties to a number of other DC franchises, mostly on the cosmic side of the universe. We certainly hope that Cameron Cuffe and Cameron Welsh find success in their respective futures, and hopefully back on Krypton itself if circumstances allow for it.

Krypton‘s premise read as follows:

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe, Blake Ritson, Shaun Sipos, Colin Salmon, Georgina Campbell, Wallis Day, Ann Ogbomo, Aaron Pierre, Hannah Waddingham, Kem, Ian McElhinney, and Emmett J. Scanlan as Lobo. Cameron Welsh was the showrunner.

Krypton aired Wednesdays at 10/9c on SyFy.
