With Gotham wrapping up later this month, fans are really going above and beyond to tribute the show ahead of the show’s season finale. Some controversy befell Gotham recently when it debuted the final design for Cameron Monaghan’s Joker. The final design sees a nearly bald and boiled skin Joker, which is a big departure from Gotham‘s previously cleaner and prettier, pre-joker, Jeremiah Valeska.
Showing a more comic accurate portrayal of Cameron Monaghan as the Joker, digital artist Will Gray has mocked up a photoshop rendering of The Joker. He credits Batman: Arkham Asylum as the inspiration for the piece, bringing a much more familiar look to the character. It certainly brings Gotham‘s take on The Joker’s final look into question when something much more appealing was an option, but it is definitely a design that will stand apart from the rest of the live-action Jokers.
What are your thoughts on Cameron Monaghan’s final design? Would you have preferred this depiction for the show’s series finale as he goes head-to-head with Batman? Lets us know down below!
