‘Captain America: Civil War’ Box Office Update; Eyeing Huge Worldwide Opening

While initial tracking had next week’s domestic opening for Captain America: Civil War at $175M, analyists are now predicting that the Marvel Studios film will open up closer to $190M. That places it right around Avengers: Age Of Ultron ($191M) and below The Avengers ($208M). However, as we’ve seen many times with Marvel films, there’s beyond a good chance that it could overperform and we’ll be discussing a much higher number than what is being predicted following it’s opening weekend.

Overseas the film will open in France and Korea tomorrow followed by 59 other markets throughout the week. While the film doesn’t have a day and date release in Russia and China, the start of Phase Three is eyeing an overseas debuts between $200-230M. Some analysts are stating that it could open as high as $250M.

If the film performs according to these predictions, it could see a worldwide opening weekend of $420M. If the film majorly overperforms in all markets, we could see it end up closer to a $500M worldwide opening which is definitely no joke. How many times do you plan to see the film opening weekend? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
