After a plot hole apparently appeared in Avengers: Endgame surrounding Captain America wielding Mjolnir, fans have quickly pieced it together and solved the issue. Christopher McFeely originally discussed the plot hole in an interview with Slashfilm. The writer explained that he considered Captain America using Thor’s lightning powers as a plo thole, since they come from Thor’s godly status. But since Captain America wielding the hammer was such a crowd-pleasing moment in Avengers: Endgame, the writer stated that it was “too awesome not to do it.”
But fans in the IGN comment section pieced together the apparent plot hole by looking at Odin’s enchantment a little more carefully. Since Mjolnir gives whoever is worthy the powers of Thor, that obviously includes the lightning. So does this actually count as a plot hole? Not really, it just needed a little clarification to work properly. Either way, Captain America wielding the hammer is such a great scene, it doesn’t matter regardless.
Do you think Captain America using Mjolnir to summon the lightning is a plot hole in Avengers: Endgame? Or does Odin’s enchantment cover that power too? Tell us in the comments!
