‘Captain Marvel’ Outpacing ‘Aquaman,’ ‘Wonder Woman,’ In Fandango Advance Tickets

Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis announced Captain Marvel is currently outpacing Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and more in advance sales for the online ticket retailer.

In two weeks, Brie Larson will make her first appearance as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel and anticipation for the MCU’s first female-led film is at an all-time high following positive reactions to early screenings. Now, Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis has announced advance tickets sales for Captain Marvel are outpacing Aquaman, Deadpool, Wonder Woman, and Ant-Man on the online retailer’s site. In besting superhero blockbusters such as Aquaman and Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel is now the 2nd best-selling superhero origin film in advance tickets sales Fandango.

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019.
