‘Captain Marvel:’ Is Nick Fury Using The Same Pager From ‘Avengers: Infinity War’?

You know the score. There’s a trailer for a comic book film. So therefore it’s time for everyone down to every Redditor to the smallest Twitter user to put on their speculation hats and start theorizing or making connections to other films in that franchise, or even nods to lore in the comic books themselves. Case in point, Captain Marvel and the end of Avengers: Infinity War. And how Nick Fury ties it together.

We’ll start with Infinity War since, well, that one you can actually watch right now. If you recall, at the end of that film, Nick Fury sent out the call. Not to be answered by the Ghostbusters, mind you, but by Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, who will first land in next year’s Captain Marvel before subsequently popping up in Avengers 4 next May. You’ll notice that in Infinity War, he uses a device very similar to the pager seen in the trailer for Captain Marvel– albeit, looking a bit rougher around the edges than it did in the 1990s.

One user on Reddit noted the similarity between the pager in Avengers: Infinity War and Captain Marvel and noted as such in the image that you can see below:

Given how Captain Marvel will no doubt set up what leads to her answering the call later for Avengers 4, and that Fury likely would have the same device used to contact her, whether human technology, Kree, or otherwise, it’s not impossible that he’d be using the same instrument to get in touch with Danvers.
