With two weeks left until the film’s theatrical release, Captain Marvel has plummeted down to the lowest ranked Marvel Cinematic Universe film on Rotten Tomatoes, sitting at a 45% audience rating. The previous film in its place was 2008’s The Incredible Hulk which has a 70% audience rating.
Even though the internet trolls have made sure to give the upcoming Brie Larson led superhero flick their negative share, it’s not going to deter Marvel fans from going to see the long awaited Captain Marvel solo film.
Disney and Marvel Studios are no strangers to “haters” and internet trolls because they have dealt with this sort of opposition before. 2018’s Black Panter also saw its fair share of negativity and it made over $1 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most successful films.
Captain Marvel‘s lead Brie Larson understands that this film is not only another female led superhero film, but it’s also a symbol of progression for women everywhere. It’s her position on diversity that has drawn heat for the film, but it’s not going to stop her anytime soon.
As a matter of fact it’s one of Bire Larson’s recently announced goals is to lead an all female Avengers team in the MCU’s future. Fans will just have to wait and see what the internet trolls have to say about that when we get there.
