‘Captain Marvel’ Directors Are All For Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers & Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie Teaming Up

During an interview with CinemaBlend, Captain Marvel directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck shared their thoughts on the fan calls to have Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers team up with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.

Almost immediately after the release of Captain Marvel, several fans began calling for Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers and Tess Thompson’s Valkyrie to join forces or even become romantic partners. While the two heroines worked together during the showdown against Thanos and his forces in Avengers: Endgame, their screentime together was minimal at best. While there is no official word on what the future holds for Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers and Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, Captain Marvel co-director Ryan Fleck noted he agrees with the fans who want to see the pair team up:

“There’s been a lot of… look, I have no idea what the plans are for the future. But the speculation online about Carol and Valkyrie teaming up, I think, is a pretty cool, pretty cool idea.”

Co-director Anna Boden also expressed her fondness for Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, adding “She’s one of my favorite women of Marvel.”

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel will be available on Digital HD starting May 28, 2019, followed by an Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD release on June 11.
