Marvel Studios’ ‘Captain Marvel’ Gets A Release Date In China

True believers from China rejoice! Marvel Studios’ next film Captain Marvel gets a release date in your country.

For those of you that don’t know, Chinese authorities are very strict to what they allow to be shown on TV or movie theaters in their country. Usually, Chinese audiences get to see new content months after its release in America or Europe. This created an online black market of sorts which has everything they’re not allowed to see by the country’s authorities.

Well, fortunately for Chinese people Captain Marvel will not be the case. According to a report from Comicbook, Marvel Studios’ next film will be released in China March 8th alongside its worldwide release. This news comes as a welcoming surprise for Chinese moviegoers because they won’t have to wait and see the movie months after its worldwide release or even access the black market to watch it.

Recently superhero films like Venom, Aquaman and, Deadpool 2 are making huge breakthroughs in the Chinese market. Traditionally, authorities won’t let these movies show but the trend is slowly changing. American studios understand that they have to make more universally toned movies so they can access Chinese audiences, even if they have to make a couple of versions of each film. This is starting to represent a huge added income revenue in the box office which isn’t always traditionally expected.

Do you think the Chinese version of Captain Marvel will change a lot of the film? Comment below!

Here’s the synopsis for Captain Marvel:

“Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls — the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.”
