According to BoxOffice Pro, the Brie Larson-starring superhero flick is poised to make between $140M and $180M in its opening weekend. The website counts several major factors in favor of the film’s success at the box office, including the fact that audiences have long been waiting for an MCU film with a lead female protagonist, as well as how the teasing of Carol Danvers at the end of Avengers: Infinity War will make this film a “must-see release” for the connective tissue with the forthcoming Avengers: Endgame. This in turn would pave the way for even higher numbers for the latter film’s release in April. In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted on Captain Marvel‘s box office numbers before and after it hits theaters.
