‘Captain Marvel’: Kevin Feige Teases Possible ‘Secret Invasion’ Film

While the Skrulls in Captain Marvel may not have been the villains fans know from the comics, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased that a Secret Invasion story could still be used in a future film while speaking with ComicBook.com.

Captain Marvel introduced the Skrulls to the MCU, but this particular group of shapeshifters was seeking refuge from the Kree soldiers who were hunting them down. However, Kevin Feige noted that it was still possible to adapt the Secret Invasion comic book storyline in which villainous Skrulls infiltrated Earth in hopes on conquering the planet and posed as several Avengers characters:

“Just like not all humans are bad, and not all humans are good, I think Skrulls probably have a variety of moralities amongst them. When they can do what they can do, it probably gets very tempting. So, it’s fun to have introduced this concept and see where it goes.”

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
