Watch The First Official Trailer For ‘Captain Marvel’

Marvel Studios has released the first official trailer for the Captain Marvel movie starring Academy Award winner Brie Larson.

The film takes place in the ’90s and is set to introduce the Skrulls to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can watch the trailer below.

The film follows Carol Danvers, a.k.a. the superheroine known as Captain Marvel. In the comics, Danvers was a test pilot who gained super strength and the ability to fly after being caught in an explosion with a Kree device. Academy Award winner Brie Larson is signed to play the character.

Mississipi Grind helmers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing from a script written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve. Here’s the official synopsis:

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

In addition to Brie Larson, Captain Marvel also stars Jude Law as Doctor Walter Lawson, a.k.a. Mar-Vell, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Clark Gregg as Phill Coulson, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau and Ben Mendelsohn as the film’s main villain, Talos.

Captain Marvel is slated to hit theaters on March 8, 2019. Keep an eye on Heroic Hollywood as more details on this project come out.
