The Kree-Skrull conflict is set to receive a fair bit of prominence in Captain Marvel, and the upcoming Empire issue contains an image that provides a more detailed look at how the Skrulls will look in the upcoming film. There’s a better level of detail compared to earlier images and while they don’t look any less like Piccolo, that’s why we have Dragon Balls to fix that sort of thing, right? Anyway, have a look at the Skrulls in the new Captain Marvel image.
Oh, but it’s not over yet. While the Skrulls are going to receive a lot of attention, we again can’t neglect to mention the Kree. And accompanying the above image is one with Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg/Marl-Vell/somebody and Rune Temte’s Bron-Char.
With this being the first time we will see both the Kree and Skrull races in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, how much prominence do you hope the shapeshifters receive in Captain Marvel? Do you hope to see them beyond this film? Is there anyone out there you suspect may be a Skrull in hiding? Let us know your thoughts on this and more in the comments below.
Meanwhile, here’s the synopsis for Captain Marvel:
“Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She’s left her earthly life behind to join an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls — the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.”
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
The film will fly into theaters on March 8, 2019.
