Since he was cast, Jude Law was thought to be playing Walter Lawson/Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel and mentor to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers. But interviews with Law and ambiguous marketing for his character seemed to point to him actually playing Yon-Rogg, who in the comics has been an enemy of Carol Danvers and bore a grudge against Mar-Vell because he was in love with a Kree medic named Una, who had feelings for Mar-Vell.

The masked figure to the right of Larson certainly looks like Law, and the third image (which you can see to the left of the main image) gives this character’s name as “Yon-…” before the image cuts off. Clearly, that’s no coincidence.
Do you think Law is playing Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel? What do you think of this potential reveal? Give us your thoughts in the comment section!
