Weird ‘Captain Marvel’ Ad Has Kris Jenner Meeting Brie Larson

A new Captain Marvel ad brings Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers together with businesswoman and television personality Kris Jenner.

Captain Marvel is only a few days away from finally arriving in theaters and the promotional campaign for Brie Larson’s debut as Carol Danvers continues with a relatively unusual ad featuring celebrity Kris Jenner. The short video begins with Kris Jenner and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna stopping by a Los Angeles Blockbuster seconds before Captain Marvel falls from the sky and crash lands inside of the video rental store. Lisa Rinna watches as Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers gets back on her feet and wonder if she needs any help, promoting Kris Jenner to reply, “I don’t think she needs any help, what she needs is her own movie!”

Mississipi Grind helmers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have directed from a script written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve. Here’s the official synopsis:

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg and Jude Law. The film is slated to hit theaters on March 8, 2019.

Following her debut in her titular standalone film, Brie Larson will return to face Thanos in April when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019, however, it remains unclear as to whether or not Samuel L Jackson will appear.

Plot details are still under wraps but the Avengers are expected to attempt to undo Thanos’ snap which gave way to the decimation of half of the Universe after the heroes failed to stop the Mad Titan from collecting all six Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War. The highly-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War follow-up will conclude the previous 22 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before Marvel kicks off Phase 4 with Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it.
