‘Captain Marvel’ Producer Reveals The Role Of Ronan In Film

It seems that we will be seeing a more subdued version of Ronan the Accuser in Captain Marvel as one of the film’s producer’s discussed the character’s role in the upcoming film.

During a brief interview with Comicbook.com, Captain Marvel executive producer, Jonathan Schwartz, talked a bit about the character in the upcoming film. According to the producer, Ronan would be a less radical version of the characters that we saw in the 2014 film, Guardians of the Galaxy. He also promised some interesting interactions between Ronan and Starforce:

It’s an earlier version of Ronan, who has not become the radical zealot that we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy. So he has his own station in Kree society, on Hala, and has his own role to play in the Kree military that intersects with Starforce in an interesting way.

From the look of things, we might be getting a more tempered version of the Guardians of the Galaxy antagonist!

What do you all make of this? Are you looking forward to a different version of Ronan in Captain Marvel? Did you like the character in Guardians of the Galaxy? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Here’s the synopsis for Captain Marvel:

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
