In an interview with AMC Theaters, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck discussed a variety of topics in regards to Captain Marvel, such as the 1990s setting and Brie Larson’s performance. Towards the end, though, the two did touch upon Carol Danvers’ strength, what makes her “the most powerful superhero in the MCU,” and what that could mean for Thanos by the time Avengers: Endgame arrives. Here’s what Ryan Fleck had to say about that:
““At the beginning of our movie, she doesn’t know how powerful she is. But by the end, you’ll see that, uh … let’s just say this: I’m very excited to see what she does to Thanos in Endgame.”
A literal tease of what Carol Danvers will have at her disposal not just in the Captain Marvel film, but the next main Avengers film as well. Going off of Kevin Feige’s previous words about Captain Marvel being the strongest hero to come, it seems that Carol Danvers will have a huge role to play in helping Earth’s remaining heroes in Avengers: Endgame in a few months. What do you think so far about what many have said about Carol’s power set? Do you think she’ll be the one to deliver the knockout punch to Thanos in Endgame? Let us know in the comments below.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
Captain Marvel will fly into theaters on March 8, 2019. Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters one month later on April 26, 2019.
