Carol Danvers Graces Cover Of Empire Magazine’s ‘Captain Marvel’ Issue

Before Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers can fly into theaters with Captain Marvel in about two months, she first has to win at the marketing game. And part of that involves having your face on a magazine or two, as the upcoming newsstand issue of Empire Magazine has shown us.

The upcoming newsstand cover of Empire Magazine, just like another recent issue, is adorned not just with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, but Jude Law’s Mar-Vell/Yon-Rogg/whoever he’s playing, and Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos. Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming Marvel Studios flick:

“Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She’s left her earthly life behind to join an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls — the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.”

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

The film will fly into theaters on March 8, 2019.
