One of Batman’s most well known foes, Catwoman, will not be making an appearance in Ben Affleck’s first solo Batman film. According to a tweet from Fandango managing editor Erik Davis, Affleck’s Live by Night co-star Sienna Miller wanted to play the part. While mentioning that she wanted the role, she also confirmed that she would not be receiving the role because the character isn’t in the script in the first place.

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, as Catwoman has been saved for sequels in both the Tim Burton Batman movies and the Christopher Nolan movies as well. Check out the tweet from Davis below.

Michelle Pfeiffer famously played Selina Kyle in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, and Anne Hathaway played the role in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. She is also a main character in Gotham on Fox.

Additionally, it is being reported by ComicBookMovie that Talia al-Ghul is a no-go for the solo Batman film as well. This does not mean the characters won’t turn up in sequels, but neither villain is in the script for the first film.

Catwoman is typically seen as an anti-hero, with ties to both the Bat family and to the criminal underworld. She is also seen as a love interest for Bruce Wayne, but a love interest that comes with a price of fraternizing with the enemy. Catwoman has been around in Batman’s lore for decades, and chances are that if Affleck’s solo movie is successful we could very possibly see the character in a DC extended universe sequel, and she could even show up in the Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey film.

If Catwoman is ever added to the DCEU, do you think Sienna Miller would be right for the part? Who would you like to see play Catwoman? Make sure to let us know below in the comments.

Jack of some trades, master of some others. That saying never really made a lot of sense to me.
