As we start to head towards the end of March and getting closer to the conclusion of the 2015-2016 TV season, networks are announcing season and series finale dates for all their shows. CBS announced today their finale dates (as well as season premieres for late shows), including the date for their new DC Comics series, Supergirl.
The Girl of Steel has 4 remaining episodes of her first season and will be concluding Season 1 on Monday, April 18. That means that after the 18th episode “Words Finest” which will be the big crossover event between Supergirl and CW’s The Flash, the show will be off for a final one-week hiatus until the show returns for the 19th (title yet to be revealed) episode on Monday, April 11.
While Supergirl has yet to be officially renewed for a second season on the network, Leslie Moonves, CBS CEO, said last week at the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet and Telecom Conference in Florida that “We have five new shows on this year. Of those five, I believe all five of them will be renewed, and we own four of them.” which includes Supergirl.
The show will be the first one in the DC TV franchise to wrap up its season as the CW announced last week the season finale dates for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (May 19), The Flash (May 24) and Arrow (May 25), all three which have been renewed as of last week too. Gotham is the only one that has yet to announce their season finale date, but it’s most likely going to be on Monday, May 16.
Supergirl airs on Monday nights, 8/7c on CBS.
