While promoting his new film 21 Bridges, Chadwick Boseman touched on the future of Black Panther on the big screen, including the upcoming sequel. During this interview, Chadwick Boseman shared his own thoughts on the prospect of appearing alongside his fellow Avengers on any of the live-action Disney Plus series, and his answer may surprise you:
“I wouldn’t because I don’t want to do a TV show. I wouldn’t choose one so I can’t answer that. Like, I have a whole list of things that I’m excited about. And so, none of those are franchises.”
As of right now, Chadwick Boseman would prefer to have King T’Challa remain on the big screen. But despite his disinterest in appearing on a live-action Disney Plus series, Chadwick Boseman is lending his voice talents on the upcoming animated series What If…?. Footage screened at the D23 Expo back in August revealed Black Panther as an alternate version of Star-Lord.
Either way, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther will remain a staple of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the forseeable future – even if he’d prefer the character primarily on the big screen rather than in guest appearances on Disney Plus.
