Despite the success and popularity of Arrow which stars Stephen Amell on The CW, the DCEU still hasn’t featured its own iteration of the DC superhero. But that’s not enough to stop fans from imagining who could become the first Oliver Queen in the DCEU. There’s no doubt that the fan-favorite choice is Charlie Hunnam. Rumors swirled long ago that a movie centered on the Green Arrow was in the works at WB, and Charlie Hunnam was rumored as the possible pick to take on the role of the DC superhero. It’s not hard to see why fans think he’s a great choice for the role considering how similar he looks to the comic-book character.
You can check out what Charlie Hunnam would look like as the Green Arrow in the character’s Injustice 2 costume below!
So what do you think? Would you like to see Charlie Hunnam debut as the DCEU’s first Green Arrow? Or would you prefer another actor besides Charlie Hunnam? Let us know in the comments below!
While Charlie Hunnam wasn’t too keen on the idea of playing a superhero just a few years ago — thinking it’d be a bad choice for his career at the time, Hunnam has since changed his mind. Although Charlie Hunnam has been upfront about not being a fan of comic books themselves, he’d love for the studio to give him the gig since he happens to resemble the character.
There are currently no rumors suggesting that Warner Bros. and DC Films have a Green Arrow feature film in the works, but they are developing lots of other projects. The list includes Matt Reeves’ The Batman, a Flash standalone film, The Suicide Squad, Aquaman 2, The Trench, Black Adam, Supergirl, and New Gods.
For now, Green Arrow fans can catch Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen when he returns for the final season of Arrow this fall. The DCEU will continue next year with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, followed by Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DCEU starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
