Charlize Theron Doesn’t Know If She Will Be Returning For ‘Furious 9’

The Fate of the Furious star Charlize Theron, who played Cipher, does not yet know if she will be returning for Furious 9.

One of the best new elements in The Fate of the Furious was Charlize Theron’s new villain Cipher. With her great antagonistic  chemisty with Vin Diesel, the character brought a lot to the table in the eighth installment in the franchise, but will she be returning for the ninth Fast and the Furious film?

While speaking to Variety, Charlize Theron revealed that she herself doesn’t even know the answer to that question just yet. When asked wether she be reprising her role, here is what the Academy Award-winning actress stated:

“I don’t know. I have no idea if they’ll have me back. Look, I love everybody at Universal. We’re going to have conversations. We’ll see where it goes.”

Directed by F. Gary Gray, The Fate of the Furious stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, Elsa Pataky, Lucas Black, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kristofer Hivju, Scott Eastwood, Kurt Russell and Helen Mirren.

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage… and to bring home the man who made them a family.

The Fate of the Furious is available today on Digital HD (which includes an extended director’s cut of the film), Blu-Ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD.
