‘The Mummy’: Tom Cruise Makes His Escape & Sofia Boutella Conjures In Clips

In just one week, The Mummy will be upon us. Tom Cruise will add another action movie to his filmography (an already long and impressive list) and Sofia Boutella will debut her version of the mummy.

Three new clips released by Universal give us a better look at what the movie holds. There’s tons of action, with the first clip seeing Tom Cruise’s Nick trying to escape and jumping from the roof of a building to do so. In the second clip Sofia Boutella’s Ahmanet conjures something up, and in the third clip we find Russell Crowe’s Dr. Jekyll, who tries to help Nick.

Here’s the movie synopsis:

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman, the film stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe.

The Mummy will be released in theaters on June 9, 2017.
