A new trailer for the upcoming HBO film, 'Beware the Slenderman', has been released, giving us a look at some of the chilling moments from the documentary.
HBO has released a trailer for their upcoming film, Beware the Slenderman, documenting easily one of the most bizarre cases of idol worship to date, involving two 12 year olds girls luring their friend to the woods where they proceeded to stab her 19 times. Their excuse was that they did it for Slenderman.
This is a sad tale for something that started as a story on the Something Awful forum back is 2009. To think anyone would take a Creepypasta (creepy online story) as reality means that there must have been something more going on, and this is what the film explores. The documentary will feature videos and interviews with persons close to the case, as well as the taped confessions from the girls who committed the crimes. Check out the trailer below:
Here’s the official synopsis for HBO’s Beware the Slenderman:
The mythos of a faceless, digital-age bogeyman known as Slenderman was created on the Internet, but his influence was felt in the real world when two 12-year-old girls lured their friend into the woods for a brutal murder.
