‘Avengers’ Star Chris Evans Replaces Ben Affleck As Batman In New Image

New fan art shows what Avengers: Endgame star Chris Evans could look like as Ben Affleck’s replacement for the role of Batman.

Batman is easily one of the most iconic comic book characters in history. Thanks to the major boom in comic book movies over the course of the last decade, many other comic book icons have grown to become pop culture phenomenons today. One of these characters is the Marvel Cinematic Universe hero Captain America, currently played by Chris Evans on the big screen.

A new piece of artwork from a very talented comic book fan named John Regan gives fans a glimpse at what Chris Evans could look like if he took over the role of Batman from Justice League star Ben Affleck. Be sure to head on over to John Regan’s Twitter page to see even more fantastic Batman fan art. Check out the awesome artwork featuring the Avengers star in the Reddit post below.

So far, the identities of who will live and who will die in Avengers: Endgame remain a mystery. That being said, many fans think Captain America will be one of the heroes to die because Chris Evans has gone out of his way over the last year to publicly say goodbye to the character and express his passion for pursuing a career as a director.

That would make it unlikely for Chris Evans to take over the Batman role from Ben Affleck, but The Avengers: Endgame star did recently admit that Batman was once his favorite superhero. Earlier this year, Ben Affleck announced that he would be leaving the role of Batman in the DCEU. Ben Affleck played Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad,  as well as in the 2017 team-up film Justice League.

At one point, Ben Affleck was set to direct The Batman for Warner Bros. but in 2017, he stepped down from the writing/directing position on the film. Since then, Matt Reeves has taken over creative duties on film and now that Ben Affleck will no longer play the titular role either, Matt Reeves will have to recruit a new actor to bring the hero to life.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding who will replace Ben Affleck as Batman and the future of the MCU’s Captain America as soon as more information becomes available. Are you a fan of Chris Evans replacing Ben Affleck as Batman? If not him, then who would you like to see Ben Affleck pass the cape and cowl down to? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, 2019.
