Last week, Captain Marvel was soaring toward a $155 million to $160 million opening weekend after earning $61.4M on Friday. In response, Captain America: The First Avenger star Chris Evans congratulated Brie Larson on the box office success of Captain Marvel on his official Twitter account, to which Larson replied, “Thanks Cap!”
Captain Marvel ultimately grossed a record-breaking $153 million in North America and $455 million worldwide in its opening weekend.
