Fan Notices ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Error With Chris Evans’ Captain America

An eagle-eyed fan has spotted a huge Avengers: Endgame error involving Chris Evans’ Captain America and Cull Obsidian.

The Avengers: Endgame error in question takes place during the final battle of the movie, where we see every single hero fighting to defeat Thanos and his forces, which include his children. There are a lot of variables and moving pieces in this scene and something as simple as continuity can get bogged down due to time-crunches and heavy visual effects work.

As the battle begins with all the Avengers running up, Chris Evans’ Captain America throws Mjolnir at Cull Obsidian, one of Thanos’ children. As the camera continues to pan to show the battle at large, we return to Cull Obsidian who is being assaulted by both Drax and Korg. The catch is that we see Cull Obsidian much farther than he was when he was going toe to toe with Chris Evans’ Captain America. Check out the error in the Reddit post below.

Obviously, this is a very minor error that doesn’t derail the film or scope of this scene in anyway but it’s still a neat little insight. It reminds us that even the biggest movie of all time is created by humans and this error is just that: human. With the film in the hands of the public via home video, we’ll be seeing a lot more of these errors and goofs pop up. Honestly, this is some fantastic dedication, as there’s so many moving variables in this scene and in the larger scope of things, Chris Evans’ Captain America looks like an ant in the wideshot of the heroes running into battle.

Recently, Anthony Mackie (who took up the mantle of Captain America in the film) expressed interest to see Chris Evans back as Steve Rogers for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As fantastic as that would be, Chris Evans has expressed no interest in returning to the role of Captain America.

For now, Chris Evans can be seen as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Chris Evans, Captain America and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
