One of the most iconic moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe had Chris Evans singlehandedly decimate a group of Hydra soldiers in a closed elevator in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In fact, the fight scene was so well-regarded that there was a nod too it in Avengers: Endgame during the 2012 time travel scene. In the scene, Chris Evans’ Captain America understood how painful and monotonous fighting the Hydra soldiers would be, so he simply mentions “Hail Hydra”, divorcing himself from the variety of injuries that could have come his way.
Now, a behind-the-scenes video has surfaced online that allows fans to see Chris Evans rehearse the scene for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. You can check out the footage below.
One of the coolest things about this scene from Captain America: The Winter Soldier is that Chris Evans didn’t use a stunt double to do any of the hand-to-hand combat. Of course, CGI was used in The Winter Soldier, but it’s great to see how dedicated Chris Evans was to the role to see him do it all on his own. The fight sequence from Captain America: The Winter Soldier utilized a bevy of cuts to fasten the pace of the action, so it’s great to see Chris Evans work his magic uninterrupted with a wider shot.
