Hemsworth also says Love and Thunder will see the fittest Thor yet!
Body transformations are nothing new in Hollywood, with some actors going to extremes for a role. However, actors who lose or gain an unhealthy amount of weight tend to be seen as more “serious” than those who get super fit for a superhero role like Chris Hemsworth does for an Avengers film.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Chris Hemsworth talked openly about getting in such great shape for the Avengers and Thor films. Hemsworth went on to explain why he should get more credit for achieving the God of Thunder physique:
“Bodybuilding is seen as vanity, whereas if I put on a bunch of unhealthy weight, or got unhealthily skinny for a role, I’d probably be called a serious actor. The training across ten years of doing it is a full-time job. That and then a 12-hour shooting day – it’s real grind.”
Love and Thunder will be the ninth time Chris Hemsworth plays Thor, and the actor shared he will be looking his best yet after his apperance in Avengers: Endgame:
“This is probably the fittest and strongest I’ve been before all the Thors. Having this time at home meant I explored different methods, to see how I can manipulate my body with just the right amount of powerlifting and bodybuilding workouts.”
