Chris Hemsworth’s ‘Extraction’ Is The Most Popular Netflix Original Film

Netflix recently announced its ten biggest original films, with Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction taking the top spot.

Netflix has quickly become a streaming giant over the last few years and has since attracting huge names to star in its original films. The platform recently announced which of its original movies have been the most popular with audiences in the first four weeks of their release. Given Chris Hemsworth’s A-list status, it isn’t surprising that Extraction is one of the two most popular original films, after it was streamed 99 million times in its first month on Netflix.

Following Extraction, Sandra Bullock’s Bird Box nabbed second place with 89 million streams in its first four weeks. With the huge success of the Chris Hemsworth film, it comes as no surprise that a sequel is in the works written by Avengers director Joe Russo, who explained that he’s looking to up the stakes both emotionally and physically for Tyler Rake. Interestingly, Extraction beat other huge Netflix original films like Ben Affleck’s Triple Frontier, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Ryan Reynolds’ 6 Underground to the top spot.
