Chris Hemsworth Thought He Was Fired As Thor Due To ‘Civil War’

It seems Chris Hemsworth was pretty worried after finding out he wouldn't be returning as Thor for Captain America: Civil War.

It seems Chris Hemsworth was pretty worried after finding out he wouldn’t be returning as Thor for Captain America: Civil War. The actor has revealed he thought Marvel was unhappy with him for some reason and had dumped him as the character.

“I was like, ‘What? Are we being fired?’ Marvel quickly reassured us, ‘No you guys have got your own journey going on, and in order for that to work you can’t be a part of this one.’ Look, it turned out just perfect because we got to do a whole different kind of thing we wouldn’t have [been] able to do otherwise.”

Looks like Marvel’s secrecy got the better of them in this case, as it caused Chris Hemsworth a good deal of worry for a moment. While he says Marvel’s response was quick, losing the job would certainly have been a big loss for the actor. The Team Thor shorts also probably made Hemsworth feel a bit better about being left out, as everyone got quite a laugh out of them. Fortunately, Hemsworth is still playing Thor and will return this November alongside the Hulk and Doctor Strange.

Thor: Ragnarok swings its hammer into theaters on November 3rd. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Chris Hemsworth and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
