Chris Hemsworth’s Family Banned Him From Putting Thor Hammers In Home

Chris Hemsworth’s family has banned him from bringing more replicas of his hammer from the Thor movies home.

While talking on Australian radio show Fitzy & Whippa (hat tip Men’s Health), Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky explained that he’s no longer allowed to bring extra props representing Thor’s hammers in the Avengers movies home. Elsa Pataky has been married to him since right around the time that the first Thor movie hit theaters, so that’s a lot of hammers to keep up with, and it appears as though he won’t be collecting any more.

Here’s what she said about Chris Hemsworth’s hammer collection, and why she’s cutting him off:

“He always picks the best places in the house [to show off the hammers]… We have five of them for every movie he’s done. Like, seriously, no.”

Thor has had two weapons of note in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Mjölnir, the short mallet that we’ve seen in every one of Thor’s appearances except Avengers: Infinity War, and Stormbreaker, the much larger one seen starting in that movie. The latter weapon appears to have been the final straw, since it takes up substantially more space.

Chris Hemworth’s Thor will next appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, and he is speculated to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but this has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios. If Chris Hemsworth wants to keep collecting hammers, then he may want to auction off some of the ones that he’s already collected.

Here is the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Disney+.
