‘Nightwing’: Chris McKay Teases Potential Composer

Director Chris McKay has teased the potential composer for the DC Extended Universe‘s upcoming standalone Nightwing film.

When a fan McKay suggested online that the director bring on the legendary Hans Zimmer to compose the score for Nightwing, McKay revealed that he seems to have his eye on composer Lorne Balfe for the project. McKay previously worked with Balfe on his latest film, The LEGO Batman Movie. Balfe’s other credits include Michael Bay’s 13 Hours, Ghost in the Shell, Terminator: Genysis, and the Emmy-nominated documentary Girl Rising.

McKay also went on to add that one of the biggest weaknesses currently plaguing superhero films is the lack of recognizable themes. You can check out his tweets below.

The Nightwing film is set to follow Dick Grayson who became the first Robin in the Batman mythology after Bruce Wayne took him in following the death of his parents, The Flying Graysons, who were murdered at the circus.

McKay is directing the Nightwing film from a script written by Bill Dubuque (The Accountant). As of now, the Nightwing film does not have a release date.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Nightwing as we learn it.
