Chris Pine Teases How ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Is Different From First Film

During a recent interview with Variety, Chris Pine shared more about his experience in Wonder Woman 1984, which sees the return of his DC Comics character Steve Trevor.

In this interview, Chris Pine shared more as to where the film began and how it is much different this time around. The actor describes that by being familiar with the world that was created in the first film, it helped them expand more in the sequel. The people behind the film understand these characters and where they come from and this understanding helped present them in a different setting from the previous film.

Aside from a few details of how it was to film Wonder Woman 1984, Chris Pine shared more information about how his character will be this time around. Here’s what he had to say about that:

“This one is a little different for me tonally. The tables are turned, and I’m more of the deer in the headlights.”

It seems Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will be the one showing Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor around the new era. In the previous film, Steve Trevor welcomed Diana Prince as she arrived to London for the first time since she left her civilization behind not knowing what it would be like outside of Themiscyra. Steve Trevor showed her how to dress and how to view or experience the new things she was being introduced to. This time around with Wonder Woman 1984 being set further into the future, Wonder Woman may be doing the same for Steve by showing him how the world has change over the years.

What do you think of this new information? Are there any scenes you want to see play out in a similar fashion as in the previous film? Share your thoughts below!

Full details on the Wonder Woman 1984 plot are currently unknown, though the film will follow the titular hero as she comes into conflict with the Soviet Union in the 1980s and encounters a formidable new adversary named Cheetah.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman 1984 is expected to star Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wigg, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson and Robin Wright.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in theaters on November 1, 2019.
