Chris Pratt Plays Coy When Asked About An MCU Appearance Before ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’

Chris Pratt recently teased his future as Star-Lord going forward in the MCU, alongside where or when fans might see the cosmic outlaw next.

The D23 Expo has once again brought us more MCU news. This time, Chris Pratt teased in a recent interview that Star-Lord’s next appearance might not be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Since Star-Lord and the rest of the fallen were brought back at the end of Avengers: Endgame, it’s fair to say that Star-Lord is going to be focused on getting Gamora back. He was so shocked at seeing the 2014 version of her that for a moment he forgot everything that had happened in the MCU. One of the things fans love about Guardians of the Galaxy is the on-screen chemistry that Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord had with Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, but their dynamic is going to be vastly different the next time we see them in the MCU.

So when MTV spoke to Chris Pratt at D23, they asked whether or not fans would see Star-Lord elsewhere in the MCU before his expected role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 — to which Chris Pratt responded with a knowing grin on his face. He went on to tease that he knows more about Star-Lord’s character arc than he’s letting on, but obviously can’t reveal anything about the MCU plans just yet. Here’s what Chris Pratt had to say about Star-Lord’s next appearance:

“I know the answer to that. I know the answer to that, But I can’t tell you!”

You can check out the full interview with Chris Pratt below.

If Star-Lord wasn’t appearing sooner than expected in the MCU, surely Chris Pratt would have just said no? It seems like Star-Lord’s next MCU appearance is up for speculation. What do you make of Chris Pratt’s teasing? Let us know in the comments section!

Production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was originally expected to begin this past January. James Gunn was set to direct from a script he wrote but the film was ultimately delayed after Disney removed James Gunn from the project before reversing their decision and bringing him back in March. But to complicate matters even further, James Gunn jumped ship after being let go by Disney over to DC Films to both write and direct the long-in-development Suicide Squad sequel, bringing a whole new take on the supervillain team-up. He’ll now do both films with The Suicide Squad set to go before the lens prior to filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn. The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy can currently be seen in Avengers: Endgame.
