‘Captain America: Civil War’ Crosses $940M Worldwide; Pushes MCU Total Past $10 Billion

Just yesterday we reported that Captain America: Civil War had crossed $800M worldwide but with the latest numbers now being added in, the Marvel Studios release has now hit a massive $940.8M worldwide. This numbers pushes the film well ahead of both  Deadpool & Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and makes it this year’s highest grossing superhero film to date. The film had a 59.4% drop but brought in a half of $72.5 million this weekend domestically and brought in $84.2M overseas.

With a total of $940.8M globally, the Phase Three release is now the sixth highest grossing superhero film to date behind only The Avengers, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Iron Man 3, The Dark Knight Rises & The Dark Knight.  Additionally, this total also pushes the cumilative worldwide total of the Marvel Cinematic Universe past $10B worldwide. In the eight years since it kicked off with Iron Man, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gone on to become the highest grossing franchise to date worldwide.
