During the College Football Championship last night, Marvel fans were treated with new footage from Captain Marvel. The upcoming MCU film features the return of Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury along with Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson in the 90s. While Fury has been all over the marketing, not much has been seen of Agent Coulson. However, Coulson does say a line teasing the “Avengers Initiative” in the new footage. Gregg responded to his brief appearance in the new footage tweeting, “Finally some clap back on the omnipresent #SHIELD logo.”
Are you excited for Coulson’s return in Captain Marvel? Do you think there is a reason why we haven’t seen much of him in the marketing? Comment below!
Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019.
