The Collector Confirmed For ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Benicio Del Toro will return as The Collector in Avengers: Infinity War, which is currently filming in Atlanta for a May 2018 release.

Avengers: Infinity War has been filming in Atlanta for about two weeks now, but at the time of this writing, Marvel Studios has yet to release a full synopsis for the film, something that is usually accompanied by a full cast list.

However, several fan favorite Marvel characters such as Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy have already been confirmed for the movie, but we can now add another one into the mix: The Collector, played by Benicio Del Toro.

Del Toro’s involvement in the movie was first revealed in an Instagram live video by Thanos himself, Josh Brolin, who mentioned that he’d be working with the actor and two of the Guardians — Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana– on Tuesday. The actor was also recently spotted in the area where Infinity War is currently filming.

The Collector made his debut in the post-credits scene of Thor: The Dark World and then returned in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. He hasn’t been seen since, but we can now at least expect a small appearance from him in Infinity War, which makes sense considering that he’s in possession of one of the Infinity Stones.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War opens on May 4, 2018.
