The Conjuring 3 has just found its creative team as Warner Brothers and New Line's shared universe of horror movies continues to expand.
Not too long after it was confirmed that Warner Brothers and New Line Cinema’s The Conjuring series was officially branching with the spin-offs Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, and The Crooked Man, it’s been confirmed that a third movie in the series will be made.
Deadline has revealed that The Conjuring 3 now has its writer – David Leslie Johnson, one of the writers that worked on The Conjuring 2. James Wan will be producing the film alongside Peter Safran, as both have been involved with the franchises since its inception.
While it hasn’t been revealed what the movie will be about, previous statements suggest that the story won’t involve a haunted house this time around. The three movies in the series have made just shy of $900M on low budgets, making the series an incredibly lucrative effort for Warner Bros. and New Line and justifying their willingness to expand the setting into a full-fledged shared universe.
The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Conjuring 2 are all available on home video formats.
Annablle: Creation scares its way into theaters on August 11, 2017, featuring a cast that includes Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, Tayler Buck, Anthony LaPaglia, Miranda Otto, Mark Bramhall, Adam Bartley, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Lotta Losten, and Joseph Bishara.
