Disney D23 Will Showcase ‘Star Wars’ Theme Park Plans

Disney's D23 convention will showcase their plans for their forthcoming Star Wars Land park expansion, slated to open in 2019 in Anaheim and Orlando.

Disney has revealed that additions to their theme parks are going to be a big topic of discussion at Disney D23, and four panels will be held to cover their various plans, including the long-awaited Star Wars Land expansion set to arrive in 2019.

Disney Parks have revealed that they will have a pavilion outside of the main convention center which will be host a presentation called “A Galaxy of Stories”, which will preview the massive amount of content they have planned for Star Wars Land. Due to the demand, it appears as though Disney will have the pavilion open for all three days of the convention. In addition, they have released a confirmation of the panels and times that their press conferences can be seen by attendees. The panels and their dates are as follows:

  • Friday, July 14, 3:30 p.m.: Pirates of the Caribbean: 50 Years of Swashbuckling Adventures in Disney Parks
  • Saturday, July 15, 3:00 p.m.: Walt Disney Parks and Resorts – Bob Chapek
  • Sunday, July 16, 12:15 p.m.: Inspiring Women of Imagineering
  • Sunday, July 16, 2:30 p.m.: Voices of Disney Parks

Other major Disney Park expansions that may be discussed are Toy Story Land (slated to open in Orlando’s Hollywood Studios in 2018) and the recently-opened Pandora: World of Avatar, but both will likely take a backseat to Star Wars Land.
